What is in our water

Good Morning, Evening, and afternoon. I hope that everyone is in good health and emotional security.

In a past blog, we talked about the importance of water. Today I would like to chat about what is in our water.

Many minerals are in the water. that help our bodies maintain good health, such as:

  • calcium.
  • Magnesium.
  • Potassium.
  • Sodium.
  • Bicarbonate.
  • Iron.
  • Zinc.

Keep an eye out; we will go into the importance of each mineral in our body…

Unfortunately, though, there are a lot of other things that are lurking in our waters lately. Whether because of lack of factory regulation. Or because government officials didn’t know they wouldn’t be able to filter out, for example,

1. Pharmaceutical drugs.

Pharmaceuticals that could be in our water

“Scientists demonstrated the presence of pharmaceuticals in the environment more than 30 years ago. Studies in the United States of America (USA) in the 1970s reported the presence of heart medications, pain relievers, and birth control medications in wastewater (Tabak & Bunch, 1970; Garrison, Pope & Allen, 1976; Hignite & Azarnoff, 1977). The most cited reference in the peer-reviewed literature on the occurrence of pharmaceuticals in surface waters is the survey by the United States Geological Survey, in which more than 50 pharmaceuticals in 139 streams across 30 states in the USA were investigated between 1999 and 2000 (Kolpin et al., 2002).”

So some might say, Well, would that affect us? Is it such a minute amount of pharmaceutical drug?

In holistic health, there is a practice called homeopathy. A system of complementary medicine in which ailments are treated by minute doses of natural substances that in more significant amounts would produce symptoms of the ailment.

So a minute amount is very much as significant as taking a whole dose at a time. The other issue is that you may not see symptoms for a while. Another problem is that your doctor may be able to treat you for your symptoms but may not know that it comes from that water or that the water is what is affecting you. It could be a long-term situation.

2. Uranium: Unfortunately or fortunately, recently, they have found uranium in our water supply. What is Uranium? It is the product they use to create nuclear energy. It’s a radioactive chemical element. Long-term effects of drinking this so far, they know it affects the liver and kindness .. makes sense these organs are part of our filter system.

Also, to note when researching. In Connecticut they state that if you have a private well, it is up to you to get it tested.
https://portal.ct.gov/-/media/Departments-and-Agencies/DPH/dph/environmental_health/private_wells/2018-Downloads/050818-uranium_in_well_water_September_2016.pdf

Which I do understand a privet well is your responsibility, but this is the first time I have seen a gov. official telling people to make sure you get it tested.

3. Agricultural contaminants commonly studied by the USGS. What is that entail?

  • such as nitrogen and Phosphorus
  • including herbicides, insecticides, and fungicides

I have somewhat touched on this before about the pesticides, but let us try to see if we can go a bit more deeper.

In gen., Phosphorus is not bad. We need this for our bone health helps to activate enzymes and keeps blood pH within a normal range, but when you exceed the amount you need .. you get:

  • Phosphorus fertilizer (white phosphorus) is highly toxic to humans.
  • Necrosis of the jaw. {  the death of body tissue. It occurs when too little blood flows to the tissue. This can be from injury, radiation, or chemicals. Necrosis cannot be reversed. When large areas of tissue die due to a lack of blood supply, the condition is called gangrene}
  • Dizziness
  • Muscle cramps & spasms
  • Swelling in lower legs or feet
  • Numbness and tingling around the mouth
  • Unusual tiredness or weakness
  • Headaches
  • rash
  • Kidney Disease
  • Cardio Vascular system
  • itchy skin

Nitrogen

  • Hemoglobin disorders
  • Alzheimer’s
  • Diabetes Mellitus
  • Various cancers
  • Reproductive neural tube defects
  • Thyroid conditions
  • Blue baby syndrome (where the baby turns blue due to lack of oxygen)

Herbicides: Which include Metribuzin, Dacthal, Sethoxydim, Carfentrazone, Pendimethalin, Halosulfuran-methyl, Bensulide, Trifluralin, and Napropamide. So let us break them down and their effects on the human body.

Metribuzin:

  • Weakness
  • Fatigue
  • Tremors
  • Liver
  • Thyroid function
  • Skin cancer
  • Endocrin disruptors in human cell
  • Dacthal:
  • Congenital disabilities
  • cancer
  • problems with thymus gland
  • liver damage
  • issues with:
  • Immune system
  • Reproductive
  • skin damage
  • weight loss
  • Sethoxydim:
  • neurological effects: lacrimation
  • salivation
  • incontinence
  • ataxia
  • tremors, and convulsions.

Carfentrazone: I could not find info about humans, but about rats.

Pendimethalin

  • Hormonal and histopathological { s the diagnosis and study of diseases of the tissues and involve examining tissues and/or cells under a microscope. Histopathologists are responsible for making tissue diagnoses and helping clinicians manage a patient’s care.}

Found this looking up Pendimethalin. which I didn’t find with the others… Residue Chemistry

The nature of the residue in plants, livestock, and rotational crops is adequately understood. However, HED has previously requested a limited field accumulation study (OPPTS 860.1900) to determine the amount of pesticide residue uptake into rotational crops. The limited field trials should reflect the maximum label use rate on rotatable crops of 4.0 lb ai/A, and should be conducted on a representative crop (as defined in 40CFR ยง180.41), at two trial sites per crop, for the following three crop groups:

(1) root and tuber vegetables,

(2) leafy vegetables, and

(3) small grains (wheat, barley, oats, rye),

Carfentrazone

  • irritate the nose
  • throat
  • headache
  • dizzy vomiting
  • thyroid cancer
  • Halosulfuran-methyl (often said exposure is when children are playing on turf grass)
  • Skin irritation
  • Eye irritation
  • chromosomal damage {Chromosomal abnormalities can have many different effects, depending on the specific abnormality. For example, an extra copy of chromosome 21 causes Down syndrome (trisomy 21). Chromosomal abnormalities can also cause miscarriage, disease, or problems in growth or development.

Bensulide

States that found uranium in the water
  • Nausea
  • Dizziness
  • Reproductive Toxicity
  • Neurodevelopment Harm
  • diarrhea
  • flaccid abdominal and/or body tone
  • pinpoint pupils
  • salivation
  • lacrimation
  • decreased respiration
  • hypothermia
  •  tremors
  • hyperactivity
  • dehydration
  • confusion
  • (high exposure)
  • Respiratory paralysis
  • Death

Seriously look at this link. file:///C:/Users/theva/Downloads/EPA-HQ-OPP-2008-0022-0019_content.pdf; it talks about the connection to ADHD.

Trifluralin

  • Skeletal abnormalities and depressed fetal weight
  •  urinary tract tumors
  • thyroid tumors
  • Anemia
  • Liver
  • Kidney
  • Bladder

https://www.fluoridealert.org/wp-content/pesticides/epage.trifluralin.effects.htm

  • Napropamide
  • Serious eye damage
  • Diarrhea
  • Excessive tearing
  • Excessive Urination
  • Depression
  • Salivation
  • Rapid Weight loss
  • Respiratory changes
  • Decreased Blood pressure
  • Fluid in body cavities
  • decrease liver weight
  • reproductive effects
  • issues with the formation of the bone in the fetus

A little added bonus they still use this today DDT : https://www.sierraclub.org/sierra/long-lasting-health-impacts-ddt-highlighted-new-study

I will have to do a part two on this chemical in the water. There is so much information! Keep an eye out and subscribe so you can get updated.

4.Lead in water:

It is like a silent killer. It can slowly seep into your water system and can be a long time before your being affected by it.

Map of lead Level in water
  • attacking the brain (kids)
  • Central nervous system (kids)
  • causing coma
  • Convulsions even death
  • Intellectual disability
  • Behavioral disorders
  • Ischemic heart disease
  • Hypertension heart disease
  • loss of appetite
  • weight loss
  • Sluggish
  • Abdominal pain
  • Vomiting
  • Hearing loss
  • Seizures
  • Pica{eating things, such as paint chips, things that are not food}

Solution:

1.I want to say this is not to fear monger. This is to educate. If you don’t understand where there are dangers how can you avoid or fix them.

2. Get your water tested. If you have a well, test your well, as it said all of the chemicals that we are looking at today can enter groundwater too.
If you have public water . You can go to your local water filtering plant. And ask if they have tested the water lately and the results. Or ask them to test it.

4: We can keep eating Nutritional dense & detoxifying food, which helps to purify all our systems.

Like:

  • Acai Berries
  • Beets
  • Asparagus
  • Spinach
  • arugula
  • Organ Meat
  • Coconut Oil
  • Brussels sprouts
  • Garlic
  • Basil
  • Kale
  • Milk Thistle
  • Dandelion
  • Spirulina
  • wheatgrass
  • Probiotics
