We are doing well. trying to take things day by day but sometimes we have to take things hour by hour and breathe. Today I wanted to touch base on what is natural health? There is a lot of branches to natural and or holistic health. So I have stated before that I am a Holistic Practitioner.
Well, What is that? By definition: a holistic (means whole) health practitioner is a professional who takes the whole person, including
- Physical. What are your symptoms what is going on physically with you.
- Emotional. How are you feeling? How are things going
- Social. How are your relationships? Are they healthy? Are you feeling safe?
- Spiritual. Are there any struggles? Do you have time for the spiritual aspects of your life?
- Environmental. Where are you living? What type of setting? What pollution may be near you?
- Occupational What kind of work do you do? Are there hazards? how are the relationships there?
All these aspects ( Of holistic health) we take into consideration when treating a health condition or promoting a higher level of wellness. So why did I choose this profession? When struggling with my own health, trying to get healthier and observing others. I saw that all these aspects (of Holistic Health). is a huge factor to gaining and maintaining good health. After going to school it just pushed my passion to help others. Either in helping with their health conditions, or in education.. So they may take back control of their health
One example of looking at all aspects of a situation to be able to help someone’s health is:
***(bare with me I tend to go to extremes with my example but hopefully, it gets the point across.)***
If a woman or a man is in an abusive relationship and they break their wrist. You can fix that wrist. This is true.. but if that woman /man does not fix/leave that relationship. Are you really.. helping him/her in a whole? Not really, especially since statistically 80% of the time of those who stay in that abusive relationship. Being in this type of relationship wrecks havoc on immunity, the lymphatic system, your nervous system, adrenal gland. Which makes it harder to maintain overall health and breaks the system down.

***Another example: Occupational, So you are a factory worker. Of course, there always risks with big machinery. but another thought maybe is huge risks on inhalation of chemicals. which can wear down also immunity, and nervous system, lung function, opening yourself to carcinogenic. we have to look at the person as a whole. Even if it’s as simple as I keep getting a cold.. All these aspects may contribute to your overall health.
So my hope and goal is that everyone can see the sweetness of this way of living and healing.. I pray and hope that others can share what they learn and experience with their families and see lives change in beautiful ways.

So how do you diagnose? well, we kind of touched on that. when coming in with an ailment. we start to ask you.. what’s is going on, anything different. how is the diet… of course we could quickly be like oh cold, lets us build up your immunity.. But we ask why is your immunity weak. It’s true you maybe not ready to make those changes or can make those changes right away (maybe a toxic job, toxic house mold) but you are aware of what is going on .. so we can treat the symptoms and treat you as a whole and work on what needs to be done to maintain good health. What do (you) or other holistic practitioners use for treatments?:

Do practitioners work with western medication? Yes, For example. I may subscribe (suggest) antibiotics (but then we work with the digestive system by building back the good Bactria that the antibiotics may have killed) or someone may be on medication and we have to work with it, around it, or I have also worked with people to detox off certain medication.
Our bodies are amazing! They were created to heal and maintain till its time for us to go from this life. Just think about it. when you break a bone. your body rebuilds it back! our bodies were created to heal. when we cut our self. our blood coagulates and keeps us from bleeding out. eventually, our body grows skin over the cut, or burn. We just have to give the tools to our bodies to heal and maintain good health.

So the thought of the day .. Get some coffee or tea.
